I’ll be honest – I was in a pinch and had nothing specific planned right around Valentine’s Day. I took a sharpie and drew a big heart on a piece of white printer paper, made a bunch of copies, and grabbed some paper scraps. I love a stash-busting project, and there are a ton of paper scraps in the art room. My students had a blast tearing the paper into little bits and creating their own unique visual cacophony. This was one of those magical intuitive teaching moments. You could use this idea to study color theory! You could also add a variety of fun, glue-able items like gems, sequins, lace, yarn and ribbon scraps, etc. Great for K-2nd.
